So, I started this one a while back when I still had a review copy. I got busy and couldn’t finish the review copy, but I checked it out from the library so I could finish it. It’s pretty memorable, so I didn’t have to reread anything. I just started back up where I left off before. I was thinking it would be a cute romance, and it was a little bit; there are definitely some heavier moments though.

OCD Love Story is about two teens with very different kinds of OCD falling for each other. Bea is drawn to people,and sometimes becomes a little obsessive about them. Beck’s compulsions are something no one but Bea has ever been able to understand. They both have a long way to go before they learn to deal with their OCD, but having each other makes it so much easier.

If there’s one thing I learned from this book, it’s that I definitely don’t have OCD. I joke about it a lot because I can be a anal over certain kinds of organization, and I really love making lists. Those are not the kinds of things these two kids are dealing with. Though a lot of people might call Bea a stalker, she feels like the world might end or she might explode if she doesn’t check on the people she obsesses over. Beck works out constantly, and sometimes his compulsions get so bad that he has to repeat himself eight times. It’s all presented in a raw, real way. That’s always something I appreciate in realistic fiction. I got really invested in both Bea and Beck. I wanted them to get better, and I was always rooting for them. I love to love characters. That’s a sure way to make me enjoy a book. I really loved this book, and I’ll be looking out for more by Corey Ann Haydu.

I recommend this book to fans of realistic fiction, especially those who enjoy a raw style. This book is appropriate for readers ages 16 and up due to sexual content and strong language.
