I received this book for free from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Okay, so that got R-rated kind of fast. I knew it was josei when I started, but I wasn’t expecting the boobs. I know, I know. I read some pretty intense romance, but reading about something and seeing it are two different things. Honestly, it made me a little uncomfortable, but it’s nothing I can’t get over. I’m too interested in the story to stop reading. It’s addictive, just like any paranormal romance.
I actually almost feel bad enjoying this manga because it’s pretty much full of sexism. Yes, Kaya is wonderful at her job. She prides herself on how well she does her job, but I can’t help noticing that all the women in this manga are either secretaries or snacks for Kyouhei. And she goes a little out of her mind over Kyouhei. He’s clearly messed up and unwilling to deal with his feelings, but she just seems to fall for him anyway. Weird how women in romances do that sometimes.
Right, so I said all of that. It’s pretty negative, but for some reason I’m going to keep reading this story. I’m enjoying it. I guess I’m just like Kaya. I keep going back for more when I shouldn’t.
